Our History

Family owned and operated Beyond BBQ officially opened Nov 1st, 2010.  Starting with 6 BBQ sauces and a menu that included Grilled Subs (Philly Cheese style sandwiches), a small variety or Asian style appetizers, and the basics of BBQ (Ribs, Pulled Pork, and Beef Brisket. it has grown to include 12 sauces, Smoked Wings, and Feather bones, and Pork Rib Tips.  


Our Style

 While not calling itself a "Memphis DIner" Beyond BBQ closely follows the Memphis style with brined meat that is dry rubbed overnight then slow smoked using a variety of woods for periods up to 23 hours for the Pulled Pork and Brisket.   Ribs are offered either Dry or Glazed with one of the 12 sauces available to customers.  BBQ without bones is served with any selected sauce on the side so you have the choice of how much or how little you want.


Our Name

Taking it's name from the wide sauce selection which covers all major BBQ regions as well as many lesser known ones plus menu options which cover BBQ, Grilled Subs, and  Asian appetizers and platters.  We go well BEYOND BBQ.


Behind the Scenes

Owners Ed and Normy Goebig with son Ryan started smoking meat almost 10 years ago.  Along the way Ryan began working on his rub recipe and the Memphis (Vinegar based) sauce recipes.  Each person brings a different skill set which creates what we call Beyond BBQ.  Ed with over 30 years of management experience, Normy with over 20 years in the Food Service  area, and Ryan with over 3 years formal training at Metro Culinary here in Omaha.
